I think these were inspired by Aubrey Beardsley's wonderful illustrations for Oscar Wilde's poetry that I was reading at the time. Oscar and I go way back. He was my safe place many many many years ago. But that's another story.

Old doodles
Found these doodles in an old diary that I was throwing out. They're not the greatest (alas, poor deformed nubile youth!) but I remember doodling these at work, some time in the 90s. Although tearing up my writing is something I frequently do, I tend to hold on to the doodles, because they're easier to look at.
